23.02.08 - Flip-flops with socks

Is it just me who thinks that combination suuuuuuuuuucks?
Ok that they invented those special socks to be used with flip-flops, it eases the agony of the whole thing, but still... Besides looking awful it is stressful and graaaaa!!! So yeah it looks and feels like shit. Who shares my thoughts?
Chinese people (or oriental in general?) tend to combine those two things and that's the only case I can tolerate 'cos my brain has been washed by that image since forever, I guess.

I don’t get why you need socks, even the special socks. Just don’t wear goddamn flip-flops if you don’t find them comfortable, perkele! I love flip-flops, my feet appreciate the freedom given by the flip-flops. If you wear socks, you’re just destroying that whole freedom concept, in my opinion.

I’m ashamed to say it’s such a Biologist thing to do . And Chinese too. Well, mostly old Biology University teachers (so NOOOT me!). Those poor dudes and dudettes lost their ability to recognize what’s acceptable or not in fashion… but the worst I’ve seen has to be Chinese biologists!

They wear sandals plus socks (generally white socks, eeewww!) and their pants are often too short (don’t know why!) so you can clearly see the awful sandals+socks combination.

Their #1 excuse for wearing socks with sandals is that it’s too cold. Hmmm, if you think it’s cold, wear normal shoes!

What should we do?! Create a special campaign to eliminate this horrible visual pollution?!

Maybe we should, even if I'm not fond of the idea of censoring anyone. But then again... Oh jeez. I wish a representative of that "fashion" minority would show up here and explain the whole thing to us. It has to make some sense to them, have at least a few pros...

In my head flip-flops and socks are opposite things. Freedom and restriction. It's not like the system is going to be balanced if you combine such opposites... or is it?

and lolz at that pic of the sandal with a skull! I already think that is too whorish of a sandal. Now, whority + socks... errmm... I'm glad I've never seen that combination myself. Guess I'd just crack up in a sad sort of laughter if it happened...
